The Chef de Mission of the Malaysian Contingent, Dato’ Chong Kim Fatt, arrived safely in Hangzhou on the evening of Sunday, 17th September 2023.
Dato’ Chong Kim Fatt, accompanied by Mr. Muhammad Rizal Hashim, the Press Attache of the Malaysian Contingent, received a warm welcome from members of the Secretariat, led by the 2 General Managers of OCM, Mr. Fong Wan Hor and Mr. Norhashimi Hussain, at the Hangzhou International Airport.
Furthermore, Dato’ Chong Kim Fatt received a special reception from a renowned figure in Zhejiang Province, Ms. Mao Yaqi, a former World Champion and Asian Champion in Wushu as well as a gold medallist of the 15th Asian Games Doha 2006. Dato’ Chong Kim Fatt appointed Ms. Mao Yaqi as the local liaison officer for the Malaysian Contingent by presenting her with the NOC Guest accreditation card.
Upon his arrival in the Athletes Village, Dato’ Chong Kim Fatt was warmly welcomed once again by all the NOC Assistants assigned to the Malaysian Contingent, who were led by their lead teacher, Mdm. Xu Xiaohang.
On the same evening of his arrival in Hangzhou, Dato’ Chong Kim Fatt chaired the first Secretariat Meeting, during which he was briefed by both the General Managers of OCM on the activities of the Secretariat since Thursday, 14th September 2023.
“I would like to express my gratitude to all members of the Secretariat, comprising of officers from OCM, NSC and NSI” said Dato’ Chong Kim Fatt.
“As I always emphasize, we work as one team, which is the Malaysian Contingent” he added.

Dato’ Sieh Kok Chi was born on the 8th of November 1938. After his retirement in 1991, as an Engineer in the Department of Irrigation and Drainage Malaysia, Dato’ Sieh chose to continue his involvement, full time, in the field of sports, where his life-long passion was, especially in the Olympic Council of Malaysia (OCM).
Born on 21st March 1949, Y.A.M Tunku Tan Sri Imran is the second son of the late Tuanku Jaafar, an elected monarch of the Negeri Sembilan. Tunku Imran was educated in the UK at the King’s School, Canterbury and studied law at Nottingham University before being called to the Bar at Gray’s Inn, London in 1971 and qualifying as a Barrister at Law.
