Dato’ Chong Kim Fatt, Vice President of OCM and Chef de Mission of the Malaysian Contingent to the 19th Asian Games Hangzhou 2022 accompanied by his 2 deputies, Datuk Mohamad Iruan Zulkefli and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Farrah Hani Imran, made their final visits to athletes on their final lap of preparation on Wednesday, 13th September and Thursday, 14th September 2023.
Their first stop on Wednesday, 13th September 2023 was at Gymnasium 3 of the National Sports Council (NSC) to come up close and personal with the Taekwondo Team comprising of 2 athletes, Jason Loo Jun Wei and Nurul Hidayah Abdul Karim.
Both of them are looking forward to making their debut in the Asian Games following a two-month training stint with their coach, Jin Junbeom, in Korea.
The next stop on the same day was at the Multi-Purpose Hall, Majlis Perbandaran Klang, in Bukit Tinggi, Klang. The Chef de Mission and his 2 deputies met with the Basketball 3×3 Team who are also bound to make their debut in the Asian Games.
The Basketball 3×3 Team consisting of the Men’s Team (Lee Jia Jun, De Wee Yiang, Lim Wan Seong and Lai Kok Weng) and the Women’s Team (Foo Suet Ying, Sammi Tan, Tan Sin Jie and Tan Yin Jie). Their competitions will start on Monday, 25th September 2023.
On Thursday, 14th September 2023, the Chef de Mission and his 2 deputies met with the Sepaktakraw Team at the Gymnasium 2 of the NSC. The Sepaktakraw Team consisting of 12 athletes, will compete in Men’s Team and Men’s Regu events.
“In total, I visited the athletes and team officials of 12 sports/disciplines based in Klang Valley, Nilai and Klang”,
“I am optimistic that our athletes are in high spirits, and I wish all of them success in the Hangzhou Asian Games,” said Dato’ Chong Kim Fatt.

Dato’ Sieh Kok Chi was born on the 8th of November 1938. After his retirement in 1991, as an Engineer in the Department of Irrigation and Drainage Malaysia, Dato’ Sieh chose to continue his involvement, full time, in the field of sports, where his life-long passion was, especially in the Olympic Council of Malaysia (OCM).
Born on 21st March 1949, Y.A.M Tunku Tan Sri Imran is the second son of the late Tuanku Jaafar, an elected monarch of the Negeri Sembilan. Tunku Imran was educated in the UK at the King’s School, Canterbury and studied law at Nottingham University before being called to the Bar at Gray’s Inn, London in 1971 and qualifying as a Barrister at Law.
