The Advanced Sport Management Course (ASMC) is one of the flagship programmes fully sponsored by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) through the Olympic Solidarity (OS), aiming to assist in enhancing the capacity of the National Olympic Committees (NOCs) and its affiliates.
The OCM is one of the pioneer NOCs around the world in collaborating with the OS to develop and structure the organization of the ASMC where Ms. Moira Tan Siew See, one the Assistant Secretaries General of OCM, was trained and accredited as the first Programme Director of ASMC in Malaysia since 2007.
Over the years, Ms. Moira Tan Siew See, with the assistance from a team of facilitators, has been conducting the yearly ASMC without fail and the OCM has been recognized by the OS for having organized the most sustainable and record number of editions since the first edition in 2008.
𝟭𝟳𝗧𝗛 𝗘𝗗𝗜𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡 𝗢𝗙 𝗔𝗦𝗠𝗖
The 17th edition of ASMC has been scheduled in four (4) session as follows:
1. Session 1 – 7th to 9th March 2024
2. Session 2 – 6th to 9th May 2024
3. Session 3 – 1st to 4th July 2024
4. Session 4 – 9th to 12th September 2024
This year, a total of 23 sports officials from the NSAs affiliated to OCM and its states affiliates, were selected to attend the Course.
These sports officials are representing the sports of Athletics, Basketball, Cycling, Dance Sport, Fencing, Football, Hockey, Ice Hockey, Muaythai, Polo, Rowing, Softball, Sports Aviation, Swimming and Tenpin Bowling.
The Opening Ceremony of the 17th edition of ASMC was officiated by Dato’ Mohd Nazifuddin, the Secretary General of OCM on Thursday, 7th March 2024, at the Training Hall, Level 2C, OCM Indoor Sports Complex.
“On behalf of the OCM, we extend a very warm welcome to all of them and hope that they will gain the knowledge to improve their capacities as the administrators of their respecting sports” quoted Dato’ Mohd Nazifuddin in his opening speech.
𝗚𝗥𝗔𝗗𝗨𝗔𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡 𝗖𝗘𝗥𝗘𝗠𝗢𝗡𝗬 𝗙𝗢𝗥 𝟭𝟲𝗧𝗛 𝗘𝗗𝗜𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡 𝗢𝗙 𝗔𝗦𝗠𝗖
The OCM honoured the 11 participants who have successfully completed the Course at a Graduation Ceremony held on Saturday, 9th March 2024, at the Johor 3 and 6 Function Rooms of the Shangri-La Hotel Kuala Lumpur.
The Graduation Ceremony was officiated by Mahaguru Dato’ (Dr.) Chong Kim Fatt, Vice President of OCM, who is also the President of the Wushu Federation of Malaysia and Chef de Mission of the Malaysian Contingent to the 19th Asian Games Hangzhou 2022.
The highlight of the Graduation Ceremony was the presentation of the Diploma in Management of Olympic Sport Organisations, issued by the OS.
The Diplomas were presented by Mahaguru Dato’ (Dr.) Chong Kim Fatt to the 11 graduates of the 16th edition of ASMC as follows:

“With the knowledge gained from the ASMC, all of you will be playing an important role to bring changes and improvement to your respective sports and associations” quoted as mentioned by Mahaguru Dato’ (Dr.) Chong Kim Fatt to all the 11 graduates above.
Ms. Moira Tan Siew See, being the Chairperson of the OCM Education and Training Committee, in her speech, thanked the OS for its continuous support and funding provided since 2008. She has also expressed her appreciation to all the facilitators and staff of OCM for their assistance in ensuring the success of the 16th edition of ASMC in 2023 and the ongoing 17th edition of ASMC in 2024.

Mahaguru Dato’ (Dr.) Chong Kim Fatt presented the Certificate of National Course Director (NCD) issued by the OS to Mdm. Farah Azlina Mohd Alkaf, in recognition of her role to organise and conduct the Sport Administrators Courses (SACs) for OCM.
