The OCM extends its heartiest congratulations to Chen Tang Jie OLY – Toh Ee Wei OLY on their remarkable victory at the TotalEnergies BWF World Championships 2025, held from 25th to 31st August 2025 in Paris, France.
In the Mixed Doubles Final, Chen Tang Jie OLY – Toh Ee Wei OLY demonstrated outstanding skill, determination and teamwork, defeating China’s Jiang Zhen Bang – Wei Ya Xin in straight sets, 21-15 and 21-14, in just 40 minutes. Their exceptional performance has brought immense pride and joy to the nation, made even more meaningful as it coincided with Malaysia’s 68th National Day celebration on 31st August 2025.
The OCM also takes this opportunity to extend its congratulations to Tan Sri Dato’ Sri (Dr.) Mohamad Norza Zakaria, President of OCM and Vice President of OCA, who served as President of the Badminton Association of Malaysia (BAM) from 2017 until stepping down after the Paris Olympics, and was subsequently appointed as the Honorary Life President of BAM on 23rd November 2024.
“On behalf of the Olympic Family in Malaysia, we extend our heartfelt congratulations to Chen Tang Jie and Toh Ee Wei for emerging as the Badminton Mixed Doubles World Champions” said Datuk Mohd Nasir Ali, Secretary General of OCM.
“We wish to also acknowledge and congratulate Tan Sri Dr. Norza, who played a significant role in initiating the establishment of the PETRONAS Akademi Badminton Malaysia, a state-of-the-art training facility that has greatly contributed to the advancement of Malaysian Badminton” he added.
“This visionary initiative by Tan Sri Dr. Norza has laid a strong foundation, leading to the rise of our nation’s second World Champion title in Badminton, following the historic victory of Aaron Chia Teng Fong and Soh Wooi Yik in the Men’s Doubles at the BWF World Championships in 2022” he concluded.
