The Director of the Anti-Doping Agency of Malaysia (ADAMAS), Ms. Azura Abidin, made a courtesy visit to OCM on Thursday, 2 July 2020. She was accompanied by two Assistant Directors namely Ms. Nor Azhani Abd Hazis and Mr. Mohd Hafizuddin Baki.
They were welcomed by Dato’ Mohd Nazifuddin (Secretary General of OCM), Dato’ Dr. S.S. Cheema (Chairperson of OCM Medical & Anti-Doping Committee), Ms. Michelle Chai (Chief Operating Officer of OCM) and Mr. Fong Wan Hor (General Manager of OCM).
Ms. Azura informed in her briefing that the WADA Code 2021 and the ADAMAS Anti-Doping Rules 2021 would be enforced by next year.
She continued by saying “Under the new WADA Code 2021, ADAMAS being the National Anti-Doping Organization (NADO) in Malaysia, has the full authority on Anti-Doping matters and will act as an operational independent organisation to make decisions that are in accordance with the Code”.
The OCM will initiate a collaboration with the Sports Commissioner’s Office (SCO) and the ADAMAS, to get all the NSAs affiliated to OCM to comply to the WADA Code 2021 and the ADAMAS Anti-Doping Rules 2021.
“We are looking forward to work together with the ADAMAS for more educational and Anti-Doping awareness programs for athletes” said Dato’ Mohd Nazifuddin.
