About:
Datuk Mohd Nasir Ali, a distinguished figure in Malaysian sports administration, was elected unopposed as the Secretary General of the Olympic Council of Malaysia (OCM) for the 2025–2029 term. His appointment was confirmed at the 44th OCM General Assembly held on 19 April 2025.
Prior to his current role, Datuk Mohd Nasir served as the Assistant Treasurer of OCM from 4 September 2021 to 19 April 2025.
He was appointed Chef de Mission for the Malaysian contingent at the 32nd SEA Games held in Cambodia in 2023—a position that underscored his leadership and dedication to national sports development on the international stage.
In addition to his contributions within OCM, Datuk Mohd Nasir is also the Deputy President of the Malaysian Weightlifting Federation (PABM), further reflecting his active and influential presence in the Malaysian sporting landscape.
His sports involvement is further enhanced with his appointment as Chairman of the state of Federal Territory Sports Council (Majlis Sukan Wilayah Persekutuan) on 1st January 2024 for a period of two years. During his tenure, Federal Territory was runner-up at the Inter state Malaysian Sports Meet (Temasya Sukan Malaysia – SUKMA) in 2024.
Beyond the sporting realms, Datuk Mohd Nasir has had a notable career in the corporate sector. Among the positions held include General Manager of Mayban Securities Sdn Bhd, Chief Executive Officer of Kuala Lumpur City Securities Sdn Bhd, and Group Executive Director of Utusan Melayu (Malaysia) Bhd. He now sits as independent non executive director in several public and private companies.
With his broad experience across both corporate and sporting arenas, Datuk Mohd Nasir is well-positioned to support the Olympic Council of Malaysia’s mission of promoting sporting excellence, strengthening governance, and empowering Malaysian athletes at all levels.
The OCM Secretary General shall:
- conduct the business of the OCM in accordance with the decisions of the General Assembly, the Council, the Executive Board and the Committees;
- attend, record the proceedings and be responsible for the minutes of all meetings of the General Assembly, Council, Executive Board and Management;
- provide activity reports to the Executive Board, Council and General Assembly;
- maintain at all times, an updated register of all Members.
