Y.B. Hannah Yeoh, the Minister of Youth and Sports Malaysia, paid an official visit to the Athletes Village of the 19th Asian Games Hangzhou 2022 on Sunday, 24th September 2023.
Y.B. Hannah Yeoh, who was accompanied by Mr. Jefri Ngadirin, the Director of Athletes Division, National Sports of Council (NSC) and Dr. Ahmad Zawawi Zakaria, the Director of Sports Performance, National Sports Institute (NSI), was given a warm welcome by the Chef de Mission, Dato’ (Dr.) Chong Kim Fatt and his two deputies Datuk Mohamad Iruan Zulkefli, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Farrah Hani Imran and members of the Secretariat upon her arrival at 11.30 am.
The delegation was taken on a tour to the base of the Malaysian Contingent located in Building No. 7 in Zone 2 South of the Athletes Village, where the Secretariat Operations Room which is jointly operated by OCM and NSC as well as the Sports Medical Clinic and Recovery Centre operated by NSI, are located.
Y.B. Hannah Yeoh then proceeded to the Dining Hall, where she took the opportunity to interact with the Men’s and Women’s Hockey Teams and the Boxing athletes before sampling lunch.
The visit concluded with a surprise birthday celebration for the national Hockey player, Mr. Abdul Khaliq Hamirin, who is celebrating his 26th birthday today.
