The OCM has hailed the Safe Sport Code launched by the Ministry of Youth and Sports on Wednesday, 15th March 2023, as a much-needed policy aimed at providing a safe environment for all stakeholders in sporting activities.
The President of OCM, Tan Sri Dato’ Sri (Dr.) Mohamad Norza Zakaria, has described the Safe Sport Code as a great initiative from the Ministry to provide an all-encompassing policy in line with the IOC Safe Sport Initiatives.
The Safe Sport Code was launched by the Minister of Youth and Sports, Y.B. Hannah Yeoh, as one of her Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) in her first 100 days of holding the portfolio.
“The OCM is fully committed to the cause by creating the necessary awareness and the importance of observing the Safe Sport Code so that the athletes, parents, coaches, sport administrators and everyone involved in sporting activities are free from any forms of harassment and abuse in sport”,
“To illustrate our full support towards this initiative, the OCM will be organising an international conference on Safe Sport in collaboration with the IOC to promote the Safe Sport Code and various aspects of its implementation,” said Tan Sri Dr. Norza.
