Dato’ Mohd Nazifuddin won the election of the Secretary General of the Olympic Council of Malaysia at the OCM General Assembly, held on 5 May 2018. Simultaneously, he also holds the following positions:
- Secretary General of the Commonwealth Games Association of Malaysia;
- Chairperson of the OCM Building & Facilities Committee

Dato’ Mohd Nazifuddin is the chairman, director, and founder of numerous local and international corporations. He is currently the Owner and Corporate Advisor to public listed companies such as AppAsia Bhd and Sersol Bhd. He is also the Chairman of Magna Healthcare Sdn Bhd, Fimtab Sdn Bhd, Synergy Energy Sdn Bhd, Cahaya Pedoman Sdn Bhd, Gryphon Technology, Perak Transit Sdn Bhd, and Dynac Sdn Bhd.
With Malaysian roots, and a unique political background, Dato’ Mohd Nazifuddin hails from a family of two prime ministers and he is also related to various ministers and dignitaries. This has given him broad national and international-level exposure and experience in the course of working extensively with myriad government ministries, statutory boards, and businesses associated with the Government of Malaysia. These include the Home Affairs, Finance, Trade, and Defence Ministries as well as numerous government-linked companies such as Felda, Sime Darby, Tabung Haji, and Boustead Holdings.
At the age of 26, his corporate career began with UBS Wealth Management, Hong Kong, and he has developed a speciality in business management coordination and organising internal operations. He has also provided consultation to funds and support to private bankers on the selection of funds for their portfolio. After a three-year stint in Hong Kong, he returned to Malaysia.
Dato’ Mohd Nazifuddin’s entrepreneurial journey has seen him engage with the oil and gas, property development, infrastructure, medical equipment, finance and banking, telecommunications, and green technology industries.
His involvement in businesses that drive economic and social change in Malaysia include 1Green Enviro, which converts raw empty fruit bunches (EFB) from the palm oil industry into pulp for paper production with the objective of delivering a competitive business and minimised environmental footprint. At Perak Transit Berhad, a company which is principally involved in operating and providing public transport and services, Dato’ Mohd Nazifuddin has been able to develop new strategic initiatives with international companies in Malaysia such as Eduss Asia, with Australian shareholders, and Saurabh Energy Sdn Bhd, which trades commodities across the Middle East. His association with companies listed on Bursa Malaysia is underpinned with a focus on business fundamentals, financial performance, and a strong sense of responsibility to stakeholders.
As an aspiring young Malaysian, he has not forgotten his responsibility to his fellow youth. For this purpose, Youth on Unity (Y.O.U), a non-profit organisation, was established in Malaysia to develop opportunities for urban and suburban youth via youth development programmes. Y.O.U has organised and participated in Zombie Run Malaysia, No Bail Out Malaysia, Youthnity Festival, and several charity campaigns. All these endeavours share a common aspiration: to unite youths, elevate their creativity, and nurture volunteerism in service to society.
The OCM Secretary General shall:
- conduct the business of the OCM in accordance with the decisions of the General Assembly, the Council, the Executive Board and the Committees;
- attend, record the proceedings and be responsible for the minutes of all meetings of the General Assembly, Council, Executive Board and Management;
- provide activity reports to the Executive Board, Council and General Assembly;
- maintain at all times, an updated register of all Members.
