The OCM extends its heartiest congratulations to Pearly Tan OLY – Thinaah Muralitharan OLY on their remarkable achievement at the TotalEnergies BWF World Championships 2025, held from 25th to 31st August 2025 in Paris, France.
Pearly Tan OLY – Thinaah Muralitharan OLY made history by becoming the first-ever Malaysian Women’s Doubles pair to qualify for the Final of the BWF World Championships, an extraordinary milestone that marks as a proud moment for Malaysian Badminton.
In the Women’s Doubles Final, Pearly Tan OLY – Thinaah Muralitharan OLY displayed tremendous determination, resilience and an indomitable fighting spirit before narrowly conceding to China’s Liu Sheng Shu OLY – Tan Ning OLY in a thrilling rubber-set battle, 14-21, 22-20 and 17-21, which lasted an intense 1 hour and 23 minutes.
“On behalf of the Olympic Family in Malaysia, we are equally proud of Pearly Tan and Thinaah Muralitharan for their outstanding performance and historic silver medal finish at the BWF World Championships 2025” said Datuk Mohd Nasir Ali, Secretary General of OCM.
