The proposed Olympic House will be nestled within the mature landscape of Kuala Lumpur Sports City following a landmark agreement between the OCM and the Perbadanan Stadium Malaysia (PSM) on Saturday, 1st March 2025, at the Shangri-La Kuala Lumpur.
The be called the Olympic House, the new headquarters will bring together National Sports Associations affiliated with OCM and the sports community under the spirit of togetherness, located beside the National Hockey Stadium and surrounded by the National Stadium, the National Aquatics Centre, the National Sports Council (NSC), the National Sports Institute (NSI) and the Bukit Jalil Sports School (BJSS).
Inspired by the Olympic House in Lausanne, the Olympic House in Malaysia will be perfectly located at the most appropriate location for OCM to operate from, as the umbrella body to 58 NSAs.
“It will be located at the entrance of the Kuala Lumpur Sports City, serving as a perfect location and a command centre to all facilities, and easily accessible and in close proximity to the public transportation network” said Tan Sri Dato’ Sri (Dr.) Mohamad Norza Zakaria, President of OCM and Vice President of OCA for Southeast Asia Zone.
Tan Sri Dr. Norza added the new location is strategically pertinent to OCM as it will be located in the middle of the national sports hub, to symbolize the role of OCM as the facilitator for the stakeholders in managing sports and elite athletes for all Multi-Sport Games, including the Olympics Games, Commonwealth Games, Asian Games, SEA Games, Islamic Solidarity Games, ANOC World Beach Games etc.
“Following our deliberation, we have come to a conclusion that the Wisma OCM at its present location is no longer viable to maintain. The Wisma OCM was completed in 1991 and it will be transformed into a financial hub once the surrounding projects including PNB 118 are completed”,
“We are now looking forward to building a new legacy for OCM as an advocate for Olympic ideals as the proposed Olympic House explores the sustainability and green building practices including energy-efficient systems, adaptive vegetation method and water conservation measures to meet the sustainability standards”.
