Tan Sri Dato’ Sri (Dr.) Mohamad Norza Zakaria, President of OCM, President of SEAGF and Vice President of OCA for Southeast Asia Zone, paid a courtesy call on Y.B. Dr. Mohammed Taufiq Johari, Minister of Youth and Sports Malaysia, on Thursday, 26th February 2026, at 12.00 noon, at the Minister’s Office, Ministry of Youth and Sports Malaysia, Putrajaya.
He was accompanied by 6 members of the OCM Executive Board, namely Datuk Mohd Nasir Ali (Secretary General), Datuk Mohamad Iruan Zulkefli (Vice President), Mdm. Nurul Huda Abdullah (Vice President), Dato’ Ahmad Feisal Ahmad Tajuddin (Treasurer), Ms. Moira Tan Siew See (Assistant Secretary General) and Datuk Subramaniam Veruthasalam (Assistant Treasurer).
Tan Sri Dato’ Sri (Dr.) Mohamad Norza Zakaria briefed Y.B. Dr. Mohammed Taufiq Johari on the history of the Olympic Movement in Malaya/Malaysia, including the formation of the Federation of Malaya Olympic Council (FMOC) in 1953, its recognition by the IOC as the National Olympic Committee (NOC) of Malaya in 1954, the leaderships of FMOC/OCM over the years, as well as the participation and organisation of Multi-Sport Games under the jurisdiction of FMOC/OCM since then.
“We seek the continued support and close collaboration of the Ministry and all its agencies in our participation in all the Multi-Sport Games within the Olympic Cycle 2025-2028” stated Tan Sri Dato’ Sri (Dr.) Mohamad Norza Zakaria.
“I also look forward to working closely with Y.B. Dr. Mohammed Taufiq Johari, who is the Chairman of the Malaysia SEA Games Organising Committee (MASOC), to ensure the successful delivery of the 34th SEA Games Malaysia 2027” added Tan Sri Dato’ Sri (Dr.) Mohamad Norza Zakaria, who also serves as Deputy Chairman I of MASOC.
Tan Sri Dato’ Sri (Dr.) Mohamad Norza Zakaria also took the opportunity to express his appreciation to the Ministry of Youth and Sports for its support and collaboration in the construction of 𝗢𝗟𝗬𝗠𝗣𝗜𝗖 𝗛𝗢𝗨𝗦𝗘, the new headquarters of OCM, which involves a sublease of 5.38 acres of land from the Malaysian Stadium Corporation (Perbadanan Stadium Malaysia) within the Kuala Lumpur Sports City.
“As the umbrella body for the 58 NSAs affiliated with OCM, we seek sustained and structured support from Y.B. Dr. Mohammed Taufiq Johari, the Ministry of Youth and Sports and all its agencies for all NSAs, in order to strengthen governance, enhance athlete development and elevate high-performance achievements at the international stage” concluded Tan Sri Dato’ Sri (Dr.) Mohamad Norza Zakaria.
