The Executive Board and Management of OCM would like to congratulate Dato’ Sieh Kok Chi, Honorary Member of OCM, for being awarded the Sports Leadership Award 2018.
The Award was presented to Dato’ Kok Chi Sieh by His Majesty The Yang di-Pertuan Agong XVI Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah Ibni Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah Al-Musta’in Billah, during the 2018 National Sports Awards Night, which was held on Tuesday, 23 April 2019, at the Shangri-La Hotel Kuala Lumpur.
Dato’ Sieh Kok Chi was the Honorary Secretary of OCM (1992-2013), Secretary General of OCM (2013-2015) and Assistant Secretary General of OCM (2015-2018) before being appointed as the Honorary Member of OCM in 2018.
The OCM would also like to congratulate both Muhammad Rafiq Ismail (Tenpin Bowling) and Amy Kwan Dict Weng (Rhythmic Gymnastics), who were awarded the Best Male Athlete Award 2018 and Best Female Athlete Award 2018 respectively.
The Best Male Athlete Award 2018 and the Best Female Athlete Award 2018 were also presented to Muhammad Rafiq Ismail and Amy Kwan Dict Weng by His Majesty The Yang di-Pertuan Agong XVI Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah Ibni Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah Al-Musta’in Billah.
Besides winning the Tenpin Bowling World Championship Men’s Individual title in December 2018, Muhammad Rafiq Ismail had contributed two (2) medals for the Malaysian Contingent to the 18th Asian Games Jakarta-Palembang 2018, one (1) gold medal in Men’s Masters event and one (1) silver medal in Men’s Trio event.
Amy Kwan Dict Weng had contributed four (4) medals for the Malaysian Contingent to XXI Commonwealth Games Gold Coast 2018, in the sport of Rhythmic Gymnastics, one (1) gold medal in Individual Ribbon event, one (1) silver medal in Team event, one (1) bronze medal in Individual Hoop event and one (1) bronze medal in Individual All-Around event.
The OCM take this opportunity to congratulate the Ministry of Youth and Sports (MYS) and in particular the National Sports Council (NSC) for having organized the 2018 National Sports Awards Night successfully.
