Dr. Norza Zakaria Officially Elected as OCA Vice President for Southeast Asia



The OCA convened its 44th General Assembly on Sunday, 8th September 2024, at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi, India where the elections for the OCA Executive Board were conducted.

In accordance with the newly revised Constitution of OCA, the following sports leaders from across Asia were officially elected to serve on the Executive Board of the OCA for the term 2024-2028:

1. President: H.E. Raja Randhir SINGH (India)

2. Vice President (East Asia): Mr. Timothy FOK Tsun Ting (Hong Kong)

3. Vice President (Central Asia): Mr. Otabek UMAROV (Uzbekistan)

4. Vice President (South Asia): HRH Prince Jigyel WANGCHUK (Bhutan)

5. Vice President (Southeast Asia): ๐——๐—ฟ. ๐—ก๐—ผ๐—ฟ๐˜‡๐—ฎ ๐—ญ๐—”๐—ž๐—”๐—ฅ๐—œ๐—” (๐— ๐—ฎ๐—น๐—ฎ๐˜†๐˜€๐—ถ๐—ฎ)

6. Vice President (West Asia): Dr. Thani AL-KUWARI (Qatar)

7. Executive Board (East Asia): Ms. Mikako KOTANI (Japan)

8. Executive Board (Central Asia): Ms. Olga RYBAKOVA (Kazakhstan)

9. Executive Board (South Asia): No candidate

10. Executive Board (Southeast Asia): Prof. Dr. Supitr SAMAHITO (Thailand)

11. Executive Board (West Asia): Mrs. Noura ALJASMI (UAE)

The 44th OCA General Assembly also elected the OCA Ethics Committee comprising representatives from the 5 different zones of the OCA, as follows:

1. Chair: Mr. Debendranath SARANGI (India)
2. Vice Chair: Dr. Mohammad AL MUTAIRI (Kuwait)
3. Member: Mr. Oybek KASIMOV (Uzbekistan)
4. Member: Prof. Charoen WATTANASIN (Thailand)
5. Member: Ms. DING Ning (China)

The 44th OCA General Assembly also endorsed and approved the recommendation by the OCA Executive Board for the appointment of the following Chairpersons and Vice Chairpersons of 18 Standing Committees, as well as 6 Honorary Executive Board Members, the Director General and Deputy Director General and 4 Vice Presidents of Asian Games Host Cities, to complete the OCA Executive Board for the term 2024-2028.

โ€œI am truly honoured to have received the mandate from all 11 member NOCs of Southeast Asia, along with the confidence of the entire 45 Member NOCs of the OCA, which resulted in my unopposed election as the OCA Vice President for Southeast Asia for the term 2024-2028โ€,

โ€œIt is a privilege to be entrusted with this responsibility and I am eager to contribute to the continued growth and development of the Olympic Movement across Asiaโ€,

“I am particularly excited to work closely with the OCA under the visionary leadership of His Excellency Raja Randhir Singh of India, as we strive to foster greater solidarity and uphold the Olympic Values throughout the region. Together, we aim to create a stronger, more unified Olympic Movement in Asia”,

“I will also ensure that my NOC provides full support to the OCA Management, under the leadership of Director General Captain Husain AL-MUSALLAM and Deputy Director General Mr. Vinod Kumar TIWARI, to implement as many OCA Development Programmes as possible in Malaysia and the Southeast Asia regionโ€state ๐——๐—ฟ. ๐—ก๐—ผ๐—ฟ๐˜‡๐—ฎ ๐—ญ๐—”๐—ž๐—”๐—ฅ๐—œ๐—” following the 44th OCA General Assembly.
