The launching of the book ‘Everything Is A Story‘ The Memoirs of Dato’ Robert Lim was successfully held on Thursday, 3 January 2019, at the OCM Sports Museum, Kuala Lumpur.
The event was officiated by Dato’ SiehKok Chi, Honorary Member & former Secretary General of OCM and Dato’ Robert Lim, the author of the book.
In his introduction, Dato’ SiehKok Chi mentioned that Dato’ Robert Lim is his long-time friend of around 50 years. They have known each other through sport, in particular Swimming and Waterpolo. Dato’ Robert Lim was a national swimmer in 1960s. He has represented Malaysia to many regional Swimming competitions and the 3rd SEAP Games held in Kuala Lumpur in 1965. Dato’ SiehKok Chi found the book written by Dato’ Robert Lim very interesting and he said he could also relate Dato’ Robert Lim’s memoirs to his life intimately. He congratulated Dato’ Robert Lim for having written the book so realistically and sharing his life journey with others.
Dato’ Robert Lim, in his speech, gave a short brief of the content of his book. He said the purposes of writing the book are to share his life journey with his children, grandchildren and relatives as well as to inspire others to do the best in their respective life.
The event was attended by about 80 people from various organizations and close friends of Dato’ Robert Lim. There were representatives from the Lions Clubs of Damansara Kuala Lumpur, the Yuanji Qigong Association of Kuala Lumpur & Selangor, the Fuo Lai Sze Buddhist Association, the Dharma Light Monastery, the Mamee-DRL Golf Group, the Amateur Swimming Union of Malaysia (ASUM), the Malaysia Woodball Association (MWA) including 4 famous national athletes namely Mr. Chan Chee Seng (SEAP Games medalist in Swimming), Ms. Nurul Huda Abdullah (Olympian, Asian Games & SEA Games multiple medalist in Swimming), Ms. May Tan (SEA Games multiple medalist in Swimming) and Ms. Cheong Jun Hoong (Olympian, Olympic Games, Asian Games, Commonwealth Games, SEA Games multiple medalist and World Champion in Diving).
Dato’ Robert Lim autographed and presented his books free of charge to all who were present at the event.
