Mr. Chua Hong Tam, who has served the OCM for more than 13 years since April 2006, has announced his retirement with effect from 31 October 2019.
Prior to his employment with the OCM, Mr. Chua had served in the Ministry of Education (MOE) from 1974 to 2006, in various capacities as follows:
1. Sekolah Alam Shah (1974-1982) – as Teacher
2. Federal Territory Education Department (1982-1989) – as Assistant Director
3. Sekolah Menengah Sri Titiwangsa (1989-1991) – as Afternoon Supervisor
4. Institut Amiruddin Baki (1993-2004) – as Head of Department
5. Physical Education and Sports Department (2004-2006) – as Director of Sports Management Department
Mr. Chua is one of the key officers in OCM who is coordinating the Malaysian Contingents to Multi-Sports Games, particularly the Youth Games. He had coordinated the participation in the following Games under the purview of OCM:
1. 4th Australian Youth Olympic Festival 2007
2. 2nd Asian Indoor Games Macau 2007
3. III Commonwealth Youth Games Pune 2008
4. 5th Australian Youth Olympic Festival 2009
5. 1st Asian Youth Games Singapore 2009
6. I Youth Olympic Games Singapore 2010
7. XIX Commonwealth Games Delhi 2010
8. IV Commonwealth Youth Games Isle of Man 2011
9. 6th Australian Youth Olympic Festival 2013
10. 2nd Asian Youth Games Nanjing 2013
11. II Youth Olympic Games Nanjing 2014
12. V Commonwealth Youth Games Samoa 2017
13. 8th Asian Winter Games Sapporo 2017
14. 29th SEA Games Kuala Lumpur 2017
