XXXIII Olympic Games Paris 2024 – Chef de Mission Visit



Datuk Hamidin Mohd Amin, the Chef de Mission of the Malaysian Contingent to the XXXIII Olympic Games Paris 2024, paid a visit to Lee Zii Jia OLY and his team at Sentosa Sport Arena on Tuesday, 25 June 2024.

Fresh from winning the Australia Open last week, Zii Jia is back in Malaysia for his final lap of preparation before departing for Paris. Zii Jia is currently training under coach Wong Tat Meng along with his sparring partners Lee Shun Yang, Lim Chong King, Tan Choong Yen and Ter Chun Long.

Joining his training session today were Lim Joe Heang as the strength & conditioning coach and physiotherapist, Rayvadee Rattanakthada.

Zii Jia confirmed his place in Paris for the Men’s Singles event on 10 May 2024, and it will be his second appearance after Tokyo 2020.

“I could see Zii Jia’s determination and spirit to prove something in Paris. Zii Jia also informed me that he is indeed looking forward to this Olympic Games to achieve something for Malaysia”.

“I told Zii Jia to maintain his focus during training and once he reaches Paris, to take every match as it comes. We will wait for the badminton draw, which is expected to take place on 12 July,” said Datuk Hamidin Mohd Amin.

The victory in Australia has boosted Zii Jia’s confidence ahead of his departure to Paris.

Under the watchful eyes of Tat Meng who is looking forward to his fourth Olympic Games as a coach, Zii Jia underwent a strenuous sparring session, going on one versus one, one versus two and one versus three as he looks forward to the prestigious Games.
