The OCA convened its 109th Executive Board Meeting on Tuesday, 21st April 2026, at the Sanya Conifer Resort, Hainan Province, China. The Meeting was chaired by HH Sheikh Joaan Bin Hamad AL-THANI, President of OCA.
Present in the Meeting were the Honourable Timothy FOK Tsun-Ting (Vice President of OCA for East Asia), Dr. Norza ZAKARIA (Vice President of OCA for Southeast Asia), Mr. Otabek UMAROV (Vice President of OCA for Central Asia), Mr. Gordon TANG Yigang (Vice President of OCA for Asian Federation and Chair of OCA Esports, Martial Arts and Mind Sports Committee), Mr. SONG Luzeng (Vice President of Future Games and Chair of OCA Sports Committee), Mrs. Mikako KOTANI (Executive Board Member for East Asia), Prof. Dr. Supitr SAMAHITO (Executive Board Member for Southeast Asia), Ms. Niloo JAYATILAKE (Executive Board Member for South Asia), Ms. Olga RYPAKOVA (Executive Board Member for Central Asia), Ms. DING Ning (Chair of OCA Athlete Committee), Mr. Mohammad Tayyab IKRAM (Chair of OCA Coordination Committee), Dr. Kevin CHEN Kuo-I (Chair of OCA Finance Committee), Ms. Valerierose M.K. TARAZI (Chair of OCA Gender Equity Committee), Captain Dr. Husain AL-MUSALLAM (Director General of OCA), Mr. Vinod Kumar TIWARI (Deputy Director General of OCA) and HH Sheikh Faisal Bin Ahmed AL-THANI (Director of the President of OCA’s Office)
During the Meeting, the OCA Executive Board reviewed and approved the following matters:
1. The minutes of the 108th OCA Executive Board Meeting held in Kuwait on 15th February 2026.
2. The final preparation of the 6th Asian Beach Games Sanya 2026
3. The progress report on the 20th Asian Games Aichi-Nagoya 2026.
4. The report by the OCA Finance Committee
5. The expression of interest by NOC Mongolia to host the Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games in 2030.
Following the working visit of HH Sheikh Joaan Bin Hamad AL-THANI to Malaysia and his special audiences with His Majesty The King of Malaysia Sultan Ibrahim and His Excellency Prime Minister Anwar IBRAHIM on Monday, 20th April 2026, Dr. Norza ZAKARIA presented a proposal for Malaysia to host the 2029 Asian Beach Games, which was unanimously accepted by the OCA Executive Board.
Dr. Norza ZAKARIA will initiate collaboration with all relevant stakeholders in organizing the Asian Beach Games, including finalising the host city, dates and sports programme. Once the relevant stakeholders have agreed, a joint announcement will be made.
