2025 Olympic Day Run

In conjunction with the National Sports Day (Hari Sukan Negara), which is celebrated every year in the month of October, the NOC Malaysia and the Malaysia Stadium Corporation (Perbadanan Stadium Malaysia-PSM) jointly organised the 2025 Olympic Day Run on Saturday, 25th October 2025, at 7.00 am, at the Kuala Lumpur Sports City.

The organisation of the 2025 Olympic Day Run marks another successful collaboration between NOC Malaysia and PSM, following the appointment of PSM as a Strategic Partner in the Olympic Movement on Monday, 23rd June 2025.

After the official appointment, PSM proudly hosted the Groundbreaking Ceremony of the Olympic House, the new headquarters of NOC Malaysia, which was officiated by the Prime Minister of Malaysia, the Right Honourable Anwar Ibrahim, on Thursday, 7th August 2025.

“Today marks yet another milestone in our partnership with PSM as we jointly organise the 2025 Olympic Day Run right here at the Kuala Lumpur Sports City” said Dr. Norza ZAKARIA, President of NOC Malaysia and Vice President of OCA for Southeast Asia Zone.

Despite the challenges posed by extensive road closures across Kuala Lumpur in preparation for the 47th ASEAN Summit, NOC Malaysia and PSM successfully gathered over 2,000 runners to participate in the 2025 Olympic Day Run.

“In fact, this year’s Olympic Day Run recorded one of the highest numbers of international participants in history, with runners from 17 countries, including Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Brunei Darussalam, Canada, China, Indonesia, India, Japan, Korea, Mongolia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Russia, Singapore, Switzerland, the United Kingdom, and of course, the host nation, Malaysia,” he added.

“This historic milestone in the Olympic Movement in Malaysia has been officially recognised by the Malaysia Book of Records. Today, we witnessed the presentation of an official recognition by the Malaysia Book of Records, acknowledging Kuala Lumpur as the first city in Malaysia to host the Olympic Day Run, a recognition proudly received by the Mayor of Kuala Lumpur” he concluded.
