The King’s Baton was proudly celebrated by the CGA Malaysia under the visionary leadership of its President, Dr. Norza ZAKARIA. The celebration was successfully organised in collaboration with various partners and individuals, fully embodying the core values and spirit of the Commonwealth Sport Movement.
𝗔 𝗦𝘆𝗺𝗯𝗼𝗹 𝗼𝗳 𝗔𝗿𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝗙𝗲𝗮𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗜𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝘁𝘆, 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗱𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗧𝗲𝘅𝘁𝗶𝗹𝗲𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗪𝗶𝗹𝗱𝗹𝗶𝗳𝗲
As part of the celebration, CGA Malaysia collaborated with the renowned Malaysian artist “Sepatuart” to design and paint the special three-panel King’s Baton. The artwork, inspired by Malaysia’s national identity, wildlife and textile heritage, symbolises the nation’s cultural richness and its contribution to the diversity of the Commonwealth.
𝗣𝗮𝗻𝗲𝗹 𝟭 – features the identity of CGA Malaysia and showcases Malaysia’s unique landmarks and symbols, including the national flag, PETRONAS Twin Towers, Merdeka 118 Tower, Kuala Lumpur Tower, a spiritual mosque, the majestic Mount Kinabalu, the traditional wau bulan (moon kite), the exotic Rafflesia flower and the national flower: Hibiscus.
𝗣𝗮𝗻𝗲𝗹 𝟮 – highlights 3 of Malaysia’s traditional textiles: the intricate 𝗞𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘄𝗮𝗻𝗴 embroidery, the handwoven 𝗦𝗼𝗻𝗴𝗸𝗲𝘁 brocade fabric and the modern wax-resist 𝗕𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗸 textile.
𝗣𝗮𝗻𝗲𝗹 𝟯 – depicts Malaysia’s most iconic wildlife species: Hornbill, Orangutan, Tiger, Sun Bear and sea turtle.
𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗞𝗶𝗻𝗴’𝘀 𝗕𝗮𝘁𝗼𝗻 𝗥𝗲𝗹𝗮𝘆
In partnership with the Ministry of Education Malaysia, CGA Malaysia organised a symbolic King’s Baton Relay on Thursday, 30th October 2025, at 9.30 am, at the Sports Academy Stadium, Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM). The event saw the enthusiastic participation of over 500 student-athletes from national and state sports schools across Malaysia.
During the Relay, the beautiful hand painted King’s Baton was unveiled by 4 distinguished Commonwealth Games athletes, namely Mr. Boon Lim TEOH (Athletics), Mr. Shu Wai NG (Gymnastics) and twin sisters Ms. Zaidatul Husna ZULKIFLI and Ms. Zaidatul Husniah ZULKIFLI (Athletics). The Commonwealth Games athletes proudly carried the King’s Baton into the stadium, marking a symbolic and inspiring moment in Malaysia’s celebration of the Commonwealth Games legacy.
The Relay was jointly flagged off by Dr. Nur Azmi AHMAD, Deputy President of CGA Malaysia, Mr. Jalaluddin ISMAIL, Deputy Director of the Sports, Co-Curricular and Arts Division, Ministry of Education Malaysia and Mr. David WALLACE, Deputy British High Commissioner.
𝗘𝗻𝘃𝗶𝗿𝗼𝗻𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗘𝗻𝗴𝗮𝗴𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁
In the spirit of sustainability and community service, CGA Malaysia collaborated with of MY Clean Beach, a local non-governmental organisation dedicated to the conservation and restoration of coastal environments, to conduct a beach cleaning activity at Tanjung Sepat, Selangor, on Sunday, 2nd November 2025, from 8.30 am. to 10.30 am.
A total of 70 volunteers participated in the activity, successfully collecting 242.9 kg of waste, including 42 kg of plastic. All collected waste was responsibly processed, either converted into energy or recycled, ensuring that none was sent to landfills.
𝗖𝘂𝗹𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗮𝗹 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗵 𝗘𝗻𝗴𝗮𝗴𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁
On Sunday, 2nd November 2025 at 2.30 pm, CGA Malaysia brought the King’s Baton to visit SK Cyberjaya, a cluster school in Cyberjaya, Selangor. The Baton was warmly received by 8 students, who welcomed it with a captivating traditional Malay dance performance, accompanied by the beautiful Malay song “Tari Tualang Tiga”.

On Wednesday, 5th November 2025, the President of CGA Malaysia, Dr. Norza ZAKARIA, officially handed over the celebration of the King’s Baton to his counterpart in CGA Brunei Darussalam, HRH Prince Sufri BOLKIAH, signifying the continuation of the meaningful journey of the King’s Baton across the Commonwealth nations.
