Dr. Norza ZAKARIA Extends Best Wishes to Bahrain Olympic Committee and the Government of the Kingdom of Bahrain for Hosting the 3rd Asian Youth Games



At the OCA Executive Board Meeting held on Monday, 2nd December 2024, the Bahrain Olympic Committee officially announced its assumption of responsibility for organising the 3rd Asian Youth Games, with the full support of the Government of the Kingdom of Bahrain.

Following the official announcement, the OCA confirmed on 30th December 2024 that the 3rd Asian Youth Games would take place from 22nd to 30th October 2025 in Bahrain.

In coordination with the Bahrain Olympic Committee, the OCA also announced the inclusion of 21 sports in the Sports Programme of the Games namely Athletics, Badminton, Basketball (3×3), Equestrian, Esports, Futsal, Golf, Handball, Judo, Jujitsu, Mixed Martial Arts, Cycling (Road), Swimming, Table Tennis, Taekwondo, Triathlon, Wrestling, Weightlifting, Kabaddi, Volleyball and Teqball.

The 21 sports feature a total of 26 disciplines and 207 events, comprising 94 events for boys, 92 events for girls and 21 mixed events.

The Bahrain Olympic Committee organised the Logo Lauch Ceremony for the 3rd Asian Youth Games Bahrain 2025 on Sunday, 26th January 2025, at 7.00 pm at The Ritz-Carlton Bahrain, in Manama, Bahrain. The Ceremony was officiated by His Highness Shaikh Khalid Bin Hamad AL KHALIFA, First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, President of the General Sports Authority and President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee.

Representing the OCA at the Ceremony were Honourable Timothy FOK Tsun Ting (Vice President of OCA for East Asia), His Royal Highness Prince Jigyel Ugyen WANGCHUCK (Vice President of OCA for South Asia), Dr. Norza ZAKARIA (Vice President of OCA for Southeast Asia), His Highness Shaikh Isa Bin Ali AL KHALIFA (Vice President of OCA for 3rd Asian Youth Games), Mrs. Noura ALJASMI (Executive Board Member of OCA for West Asia), His Highness Prince Fahad Bin Jalawi Bin Abdulaziz AL SAUD (Chairperson of OCA Education Committee) and Captain Dr. Husain AL-MUSALLAM (Director General of OCA).

The Logo of the 3rd Asian Youth Games Bahrain 2025 is inspired by the Olympic Torch and Flame, symbolizing the spirit of sportsmanship and the Olympic Movement in Asia. The Arabic font spelling “BAHRAIN” is creatively incorporated into the logo, highlighting that the Games is being held in the Kingdom of Bahrain.

“On behalf of the OCA and all 45 member NOCs of the OCA, we extend our best wishes to the Bahrain Olympic Committee and the Government of the Kingdom of Bahrain for their remarkable efforts in hosting the 3rd Asian Youth Games, despite being given only 10 months to organise the Games”,

“We are confident that, under the outstanding leadership of both His Highness Shaikh Khalid Bin Hamad AL KHALIFA and His Highness Shaikh Isa Bin Ali AL KHALIFA, the Asian Youth Games will be rejuvenated to become a platform for nurturing future Asian Games medallists, Olympians and Olympic Games medallists” stated Dr. Norza ZAKARIA, who attended the Logo Launch Ceremony as part of the OCA delegation.
