OCM president Tan Sri Dato’ Sri (Dr) Mohamad Norza Zakaria has urged the Malaysian Contingent to think big and develop the winning mentality throughout the ongoing XXXIII Olympic Games Paris 2024.
“Despite sending a small Contingent, we need to think big. Give your best. Be fearless. Nothing is impossible,” said Tan Sri Norza in delivering his pep talk to the athletes on his visit to the Olympic Village in St Ouen on 27 July 2024.
Tan Sri Norza also took the opportunity to join other athletes in wishing a memorable happy birthday to archer Ariana Nur Dania Mohamad Zairi who turned 19 today.
After finishing 50th in the ranking rounds on 25 July, 2024, the Kuala Lumpur lass is scheduled to join forces with Syaqiera Mashayikh OLY and Nur Azreena Mohd Fazil to take on Indonesia in the Women’s Archery team event at the Invalides.
Also present were Datuk Nicol Ann David and diver Nur Dhabitah Sabri OLY, Syaqiera, Nur Azreena, swimmers Khiew Hoe Yean and Tan Rouxin and golfer Ashley Lau.
During the visit, Tan Sri Norza presented the athletes with the exclusive gold coin specially produced by the OCM in partnership with Venessa Diamonds. Tan Sri Norza who is also the BA of Malaysia (BAM) President, was also given a tour of the Village, including the dining hall and the medical and support services provided by the Malaysian Secretariat at Block A20 of the Village.
On 28July, Malaysians in action include the women’s trio of archers at the Invalides and the shuttlers at the Porte de La Chappelle.
