The OCM held its 195th Executive Council Meeting virtually on Saturday, 5 December 2020, taking into consideration the current Covid-19 situation. Members received an update on OCM’s activities thus far, as well as a report from the Ministry of Youth & Sports pertaining to the resumption of sports activities under the CMCO.
The members urged the relevant government agencies to allow for a swift return to sports activities while adhering to SOPs in order that athletes can start preparation for competitions that are planned for next year.
The 39th Annual General Assembly (AGA) was held subsequent to the conclusion of the Council meeting. At the AGA, members approved the Annual Report of the OCM for the year 2019, and the audited accounts for year ending 31 December 2019.
Both meetings were chaired by Tan Sri Dato’ Sri Norza Zakaria, the OCM President, and were attended by Members of the OCM Executive Board as well as representatives from the Ministry of Youth and Sports, National Sports Council, National Sports Institution, Ministry of Education and the Athlete’s Commission. More than 100 representatives from over 50 National Sports Associations were also present at today’s virtual meetings.
