Following the official announcement of the awarding of the hosting rights for the 7th Islamic Solidarity Games in 2029 to NOC Malaysia and the State of Selangor during the 14th ISSA General Assembly on Saturday, 8th November 2025, a symbolic handover ceremony was conducted during the Closing Ceremony of the 6th Islamic Solidarity Games on Friday, 21st November 2025, at the Princess Nourah Bint Abdulrahman University Stadium in Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
During the final segment of the Closing Ceremony, His Highness Prince Fahd Bin Jalawi Bin Abdulaziz Bin MUSAED, Vice President of the Saudi Olympic and Paralympic Committee (SOPC) and Chairman of the Supreme Organizing Committee of the 6th Islamic Solidarity Games, handed the ISSA Flag to His Royal Highness Prince Abdulaziz Bin TURKI AL-FAISAL, President of ISSA, who also serves as the President of SOPC and Minister of Sport for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, symbolizing the conclusion of the 6th edition of the Islamic Solidarity Games in Riyadh.
Subsequently, His Royal Highness Prince Abdulaziz Bin TURKI AL-FAISAL presented the ISSA Flag to the Honourable Mohd Najwan HALIMI, Chairperson of the Executive Committee for Youth, Sports and Entrepreneurship of the State Government of Selangor and Mr. Mohd Nasir ALI, Secretary General of NOC Malaysia. This symbolic gesture officially marked the handover of the responsibility to host the 7th edition of the Islamic Solidarity Games to NOC Malaysia and the State of Selangor.

“As this represents a historic milestone of the Islamic Sports Movement in Malaysia, we look forward to working closely with the State of Selangor and the ISSA to deliver yet another spectacular edition of the Islamic Solidarity Games, enriched with the renowned Malaysian Hospitality”.
