The Meeting was officiated by H.E. Mr. Timothy Fok Tsun Ting, Vice President of OCA, President of NOC Hong Kong and IOC Honorary Member.

Throughout the two-day meeting, Tan Sri Dato’ Sri (Dr.) Mohamad Norza Zakaria, President of OCM and one of the 11 members of the Coordination Committee, had the opportunity received first-hand information from the Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games Organizing Committee (AINAGOC). The discussions covered a range of various topics, including the slogan and concept of Games, Master Plan with timelines, Organization Structure and Human Resources, Sports Programme, Athletes’ Accommodation, Games Services, Media and Technology, Marketing, Protocol, Ceremony, Communication and Public Relations and Partnership, followed by venue tour.

Upon returning from Japan, Tan Sri Dr. Norza shared crucial information with the sporting community in Malaysia as follows:

“The 20th Asian Games Aichi-Nagoya 2026 will take place from 19th September to 4th October 2026, at the Nagoya City and Aichi Prefecture in Japan”,

“We were duly informed by the AINAGOC that the 20th Asian Games will not have an Athletes’ Village due to construction and labour costs and the difficulty of selling the apartments after the Games. Instead, 70 accommodation facilities within the Nagoya City and Aichi Prefecture, based on the location of the sports competitions will be utilized for accommodation purposes”,

“Based on the initial plan, the AINAGOC has proposed a total of 41 sports, 58 disciplines and 400 events to be competed for the approval of the OCA”,

“We have full confidence in the AINAGOC to deliver another successful Asian Games with less than three years to go”.
