Heartiest Congratulations to Mr. Arrifin Mohd Ghani & Mr. Jefri Ngadirin



The OCM extends its heartiest congratulations to both Mr. Arrifin Mohd Ghani and Mr. Jefri Ngadirin on their appointment as the Deputy Director General of the National Sports Council (NSC), with effect from Monday, 8th January 2024.

Mr. Arrifin Mohd Ghani, 55 years old, has undertaken the position of Deputy Director General (Commercialization and Marketing) while Mr. Jefri Ngadirin, 51 years old, has assumed the portfolio of Deputy Director General (Sports Development).

𝗠𝗥. 𝗔𝗥𝗥𝗜𝗙𝗜𝗡 𝗠𝗢𝗛𝗗 𝗚𝗛𝗔𝗡𝗜

Mr. Arrifin Mohd Ghani, who holds a bachelor degree in Law from the Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) joined the NSC in 1995. Over the past 29 years, he has served the NSC in various capacities as follows:
1. Chief of International Relations Unit (1995)
2. Chief of Athletes Training Program Unit (1998)
3. Director of Elite Branch (2004)
4. Director of Management Services Division (2015)
5. Director of Sports Management Division (2018)

During his tenure, he was seconded to the Melaka State Sports Council, assuming the role of its director from 1st February 2019 to 4th April 2020. Subsequently, he was seconded to the Sports Commissioner’s Office as Deputy Sports Commissioner from 5th April 2020 to 18th August 2023. He has returned to the NSC on 19th August 2023, taking up the portfolio of Acting Deputy Director General (Sports Development) prior to this appointment.

Mr. Arrifin Mohd Ghani, a former national Hockey player, represented Malaysia in various international Hockey tournaments from 1989 to 1993. He was a member of the National Junior Hockey Team to the International Hockey Federation (FIH) Junior World Cup Championships, held from 8th to 19th August 1989, in Ipoh Perak. During this Championships, he emerged as the top scorer for the Malaysian Team, netting six goals. The Malaysian Team achieved a 6th place ranking out of 12 qualified teams.

In addition, he had also made significant contributions to the Olympic Movement under the leadership of the OCM, taking the following roles within the Malaysian Contingent to:
1. 13th Asian Games Bangkok 1998 – Member of Secretariat
2. XXIX Olympic Games Beijing 2008 – Member of Secretariat
3. 16th Asian Games Guangzhou 2010 – Chief of Secretariat

𝗠𝗥. 𝗝𝗘𝗙𝗥𝗜 𝗡𝗚𝗔𝗗𝗜𝗥𝗜𝗡

Mr. Jefri Ngadirin commenced his career as an officer at the Development Division of the NSC in 1993. Subsequently, he took a three-year study leave to pursue a bachelor degree in Business Administration from the University of Miami, Florida, USA, which he completed between 1996 to 1998. Over the past 31 years, he has also served the NSC in various capacities as follows:
1. Sports Development Officer (1999)
2. Chief of Core Sports Unit (2004)
3. Director of Junior Athletes Branch (2005)
4. Director of Athletes Division (2015)

Mr. Jefri Ngadirin, through his various capacities within the NSC, also made significant contributions to the Olympic Movement under the leadership of the OCM. He has actively supported the OCM in the preparation of athletes for participation in all the major Multi-Sport Games under the jurisdiction of OCM.

Furthermore, he was entrusted with the following roles within the Malaysian Contingent, including:
1. XIX Commonwealth Games Delhi 2010 – General Manager
2. XXX Olympic Games London 2012 – Member of the Secretariat
3. XXXI Olympic Games Rio 2016 – Member of the Secretariat
4. 29th SEA Games Kuala Lumpur 2017 – Deputy Chef de Mission
5. XXI Commonwealth Games Gold Coast 2018 – Member of the Secretariat
6. 32nd SEA Games Cambodia 2023 – Attache

“Both Arrifin and Jefri are widely recognized within the sporting community in Malaysia, particularly by the OCM and all the NSAs affiliated to OCM, through their extensive portfolios and years of involvement with the NSC”,
