The South East Asian Games Federation (SEAGF) held its Council meeting on Tuesday, 7 December 2021, via online platform. The OCM was represented by three (3) delegates namely Tan Sri Dato’ Sri (Dr.) Mohamad Norza Zakaria, Dato’ Mohd Nazifuddin and Dato’ Paduka Mumtaz Jaffar. Dato’ Sieh Kok Chi was also present at the meeting in his capacity as Honorary Member of the SEAGF.
The SEAGF Council heard updates from the hosts of the following SEA Games:
- 31st SEA Games in Vietnam: the dates of the Games is confirmed as 12 to 23 May 2022, 40 sports and 526 events will be competed.
- 32nd SEA Games in Cambodia: the dates of the Games is confirmed as 5 to 17 May 2023, the Cambodia SEA Games Organizing Committee (CAMSOC) proposed 42 sports for the consideration of the SEAGF Council.
- 33rd SEA Games in Thailand: the Games will be held in Bangkok in 2025. The dates, sports and events of the Games will be confirmed later.
The next SEAGF Council Meeting to discuss on the organisation of the 32nd SEA Games in Cambodia will be held in February 2022, while the next SEAGF Council Meeting to discuss on the organisation of the 31st SEA Games in Vietnam will be held on 11 May 2022.
