Sport Administrators Course No. 1 (2026)

The OCM Education and Training Committee, in collaboration with the Faculty of Sports and Exercise Science, Universiti Malaya (UM), successfully conducted the Sport Administrators Course No. 1 (2026) for 28 participants, 15 females (54%) and 13 males (46%), comprising students majoring in Sports Management. The course was held from 7th to 9th January 2026 at the UM Arena, Universiti Malaya.

The Course was conducted by 2 accredited National Course Directors (NCDs), namely Mr. Chong Choong Seong and Prof. Dr. Selina Khoo Phaik Lin, with the support of Ms. Moira Tan Siew See, Ms. Kalaivalli R. Ratnam, Mr. Ahmad Arif Astaman, Mr. Ahmad Badrulhisam Che Kasim, Dr. Chong Yong Yee, Mr. Fong Wan Hor and Mr. Chew Ah Chin, as well as invited facilitators Mdm. Ang Li Peng and Mr. Samuel Siew Tien Urn.

The Opening Ceremony of the Course was officiated by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Zulkarnain Jaafar, Dean of the Faculty of Sports and Exercise Science, Universiti Malaya, on Wednesday, 7th January 2026.

The Closing Ceremony of the Course was officiated by Datuk Mohd Nasir Ali, Secretary General of OCM, on Friday, 9th January 2026.

Mr. Raphael Lahang Jangin was given the honour of delivering the speech on behalf of the participants during the Closing Ceremony. In his address, he expressed his sincere appreciation to the National Course Directors and facilitators for the valuable knowledge, insights and guidance shared throughout the three-day course.

Datuk Mohd Nasir Ali, in his closing speech stated, “On behalf of OCM, I would like to record our deepest appreciation to the Faculty of Sports and Exercise Science of Universiti Malaya for the collaboration in organizing the first Sport Administrators Course in 2026”.

“Although the Course was conducted over a relatively short period, I believe it can have a meaningful impact on your career choices, or at the very least, enrich your knowledge and skills in sports administration and management” he added.

Datuk Mohd Nasir further expressed his hope that the participants would continue their involvement in the sports industry, whether as administrators, managers or trainers or by being recruited to serve National Sports Associations and the OCM, thereby contributing to the Olympic Movement in the future.

Datuk Mohd Nasir Ali and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Zulkarnain Jaafar then presented the Certificates of the Sport Administrators Course to all participants.
