The President of OCM, Tan Sri Dato’ Sri (Dr.) Mohamad Norza Zakaria, today extolled the winning combination of sports and media in bridging divide and fuelling positive changes in a rapidly ever-changing media landscape.
Speaking at the Sports Media Conference organised by the Asia Pacific Broadcasting Union (ABU) themed “The Rise of Sports in Asia: Transforming the Landscape of Sports Media” in Kuala Lumpur, on Wednesday, 15th May 2024, Tan Sri Dr. Norza said the Conference brings together key industry leaders in exchanging invaluable insights and ultimately elevating the sports landscape across the region.
“On a domestic level, OCM, as the National Olympic Committee (NOC) in Malaysia, recognizes the critical role media plays in the development of both elite and grassroots sports. By contributing to this interconnected ecosystem, the OCM underscores the importance of media partnerships in elevating the status of sports, ultimately fostering growth and success across all levels of competition.
“OCM remains dedicated to supporting ABU members in Malaysia by providing access to sports information, content and production coordination. By facilitating the broad exchange of images, athlete profiles and team profiles with ABU members and partners in other territories, OCM seeks to foster a borderless and interconnected sports community,” said Tan Sri Dr. Norza who is also a member of the OCA’s Coordination Committee for 20th Asian Games.
