XXXIII Olympic Games Paris 2024 – Chef de Mission Visit

Datuk Hamidin Mohd Amin, the Chef de Mission of the Malaysian Contingent to the XXXIII Olympic Games Paris 2024, and his deputy, Datuk Nicol Ann David, took a sneak peek at the badminton team’s final lap of preparation when they paid a visit to the PETRONAS Akademi Badminton Malaysia on Wednesday, 3 July 2024.

Their visit this morning included watching a simulation game between Aaron Chia Teng Fong OLY-Soh Wooi Yik OLY against Nur Izzuddin Mohd Rumsani-Goh Sze Fei. The simulation game was aimed at preparing the Tokyo Olympics bronze medallist on what to expect in the stiff Men’s Doubles competition before the team depart for Paris 2024.

Additionally, Datuk Hamidin and Datuk Nicol took some time to meet Mixed Doubles pair Chen Tang Jie-Toh Ee Wei as well as Thinaah Muralitharan from the women’s doubles team, who were all in training this morning. Pearly Tan Koong Le was absent from the training session due to an illness.

“It is good to see the simulation games and training session today, to evaluate the current performance of our shuttlers before they head to Paris. I’m looking forward to seeing them in action at the Olympics, hoping all their preparations to be smooth sailing,” said Datuk Nicol David.

The badminton players will attend a training camp in Paris next week before heading to the Games, which will start on 27 July 2024.
