Datuk Hamidin Mohd Amin, the Chef de Mission of the Malaysian Contingent to the XXXIII Olympic Games Paris 2024, alongside his deputy, Datuk Nicol Ann David, visited the National Sport Centre in Nilai on Monday, 1st July 2024, to look into the archers’ preparation in hitting the bullseye in Paris.
Three archers, Ariana Nur Dania Mohamad Zairi, Nurul Azreena Mohamad Fazil, and Syaqiera Mashayikh OLY, secured their places for Paris 2024 on 14th June 2024 in Antalya. Ariana had earlier earned her ticket in Bangkok last year.
Datuk Hamidin and Datuk Nicol saw the three archers at their last morning training session before heading to South Korea for a two-week training camp.
On top of getting updates on their preparation, Datuk Hamidin and Datuk Nicol held a short discussion with Dato’ Haji Abdul Hamid Haji Hasan, President of the National Archery Association of Malaysia (NAAM), coach Lee Jae-hyung and coach Norizham Ishak.
“This is the first time our women archers have qualified for a team event, and they will also be participating in the individual events. I reminded them to stay focused and wished them well in their training and sparring in South Korea,” said Datuk Hamidin.
