At the Tianya Haijiao venue, the Beach Volleyball teams experienced a day of mixed fortunes in the preliminary stage. The Women’s Team of Ms. Rachael Goh Yu Jie and Ms. Sin Sing Yee maintained their winning streak in Pool E with a clinical 2-0 victory over the Maldives, securing the match with scores of 21-11 and 21-8. Earlier in the session, the Men’s Team of Mr. Muhammad Isma Haziq Ismail and Mr. Tan Yong Jen fought valiantly but ultimately conceded 2-0 in their Pool F match against Kazakhstan. They are scheduled to face South Korea next in their final Pool F tie.

The afternoon session saw a shift in momentum as adverse weather conditions impacted the schedule. The Girl’s Foil Windsurfing series was halted, while Mr. Muhammad Yusri Syahrizan and Mr. Muhammad Hafizin Mansor both recorded DNFs in the Boy’s Foil series due to the challenging environment at sea.

At Sanya Bay Yuhai, the Teqball Men’s Doubles events, including the preliminary matches against China and Vietnam, as well as the scheduled knockout stages, were all cancelled due to the weather.

The Malaysian Contingent remains prepared and resilient, awaiting improved conditions to resume their pursuit of podium finishes in the coming days.
