Chefs de Mission Meeting – Asian Indoor And Martial Arts Games Bangkok & Chonburi 2021



The two-day Chefs de Mission Meeting on 3 and 4 March 2024 (Monday and Tuesday) organised by the Thailand Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games Organising Committee (TAIMAGOC) has come to a conclusion in Bangkok.

The meeting was attended by Datuk Wira Megat Zulkarnain Tan Sri Omardin, who is the Chef de Mission of the Malaysian Contingent to the 6th Asian Indoor & Martial Arts Games Bangkok-Chonburi 2021 (AIMAG). He is also the Vice President of the Olympic Council of Malaysia and President of the Malaysian National Silat Federation.

On the first day, TAIMAGOC organised a venue tour to the Main Sports Venue in Bangkok and Chonburi. Datuk Wira Megat Zulkarnain Tan Sri Omardin accompanied by Mr. Izzat Danial Su Azlan Su, Executive Multi-Sport Games of OCM, were given a tour of the Chonburi main sports venue. They visited the following destinations for the respective sports:

1. Tradition Hall 1, Nongnooch Garden Pattaya (Kurash & Mixed Martial Arts)
2. Tradition Hall 3, Nongnooch Garden Pattaya (Sambo & Wrestling)
3. Suan Nongnooch Boxing Stadium, Nongnooch Garden Pattaya (Muaythai)
4. Garden in the Sky Hall 2, Ground Floor, Nongnooch Garden Pattaya (Indoor Rowing & Dancesport)
5. NICE Hall 1, Noongnooch Garden Pattaya (Karate & Taekwondo)
6. Eastern National Sports Training Center, Pattaya (Indoor Athletics)

On the second day, the meeting was held at the Centara Grand Hotel and was attended by officials from the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) and delegates from all the 45 OCA-Member NOCs.

The opening remarks of the meeting were given by Ms. Sudawan Wangsuphakijkosol, Minister of Tourism and Sports of Thailand, Chairperson of the 6th Thailand Asian and Indoor Games Organising Committee (TAIMAGOC), Dato Seri Chaiyapak Siriwat, Vice President of the Olympic Council of Asia for the 6th Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games 2021, and Mr. Vinod Kumar Tiwari, Deputy Director-General of the Olympic Council of Asia.

The closing remarks were given by Dato Seri Chaiyapak Siriwat, Vice President of the Olympic Council of Asia for the 6th Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games 2021.

“After being postponed for 3 years, AIMAG will take place this coming November. I’ve observed a few game venues, especially in Chonburi, and everything seems to be in order. A few indoor sports facilities will also be constructed before the Games start.”

“Many important things were discussed, and as CDM, I’ll work closely with the Secretariat to make sure our preparation goes on smoothly,” said Datuk Wira Megat Zulkarnain Tan Sri Omardin.
