Chefs de Mission Seminar – 19th Asian Games Hangzhou 2022 (Day 2)

(Hangzhou, 26th April 2023) The Hangzhou Asian Games Organising Committee (HAGOC) concluded the second day of the Chefs de Mission Seminar on Wednesday, 26th April 2023, with a venue tour in the morning and a meeting in the afternoon.

In the morning, the venue tour for Group A, was participated by Dato’ Chong Kim Fatt and Mr. Fong Wan Hor, when they visited the following destinations for the respective sports:

1. Hangzhou Gymnasium (Boxing)
2. Hangzhou Sports Centre Stadium (Football)
3. Hangzhou Sports Centre Gymnasium (Gymnastics & Basketball)
4. China Hangzhou Esports Centre
5. Binjiang Gymnasium (Badminton)

In the afternoon, the presentation by HAGOC provided updates in the following subjects:

1. NOC Services
2. Arrivals & Departures
3. Protocol & International Dignitaries Services
4. Ceremony & Cultural Events
5. Ticketing
6. Security
7. Medical Services
8. Technology

The Closing Ceremony was officiated by Mr. Haider Farman, the Director of Asian Games Department of OCA and H.E. Mr. Yao Gaoyuan, the Vice President and Secretary General of HAGOC, who is the Mayor of Hangzhou Municipal Government.

Mr. Haider Farman, in his remarks, thanked the HAGOC for a job well done in organising the 2-day Chefs de Mission Seminar for the 19th Asian Games Hangzhou 2022. He also thanked the delegates from all the 45 OCA-Member NOCs for their active participation.

H.E. Mr. Yao Gaoyuan, in his closing remarks, gave the assurance that the People’s Government of Hangzhou through the HAGOC will do their level best to organise the 19th Asian Games in line with all the Olympic Values.

On behalf of the OCM, Dato’ Chong Kim Fatt presented a token of appreciation in the form of a piece of Chinese Calligraphy with the slogan of the 19th Asian Games Hangzhou 2022 entitled “心心相融, @未来” meaning “Heart to Heart, @Future” to the HAGOC.

“We have had a very fruitful Chefs de Mission Seminar with many updates and information from the HAGOC”,

“We will kick-off the preparation works for the Malaysian Contingent to the 19th Asian Games as soon as possible because the Games will commence only 150 days from now” stated Dato’ Chong Kim Fatt.
