Courtesy Visit by The Nippon Sport Science University (NITTAIDAI)



Following up to the courtesy visit of Tan Sri Dato’ Sri (Dr.) Mohamad Norza Zakaria, the President of OCM, to the Nippon Sport Science University (NITTAIDAI) recently, the NITTAIDAI sent a small delegation to BAM to discuss further on the establishment of a partnership between the NITTAIDAI with the BAM and the OCM.

The delegation of the NITTAIDAI consisting of 3 professors from its Faculty of Sport Culture namely Prof. Dr. Arata Kojima, Associate Professor Nobuaki Furusawa and Prof. Dr. Masaki Matsumoto, was warmly received by Tan Sri Dato’ Sri (Dr.) Mohamad Norza Zakaria together with representatives from the BAM namely Dato’ Kenny Goh Chee Keong, Dr. Tim Jones, Mr. Wong Choong Hann, Mr. Rexy Mainaky, Dr. Suresh Kumar, Tuan Haji Ahmad Mohd Idris and Mr. Mohd Nur Al-Falah and the representatives from the OCM namely Ms. Michelle Chai Han Ching, Mr. Fong Wan Hor and Mr. Izzat Danial Su Azlan Su.

“The Nippon Sport Science University, founded 130 years ago in 1893, has played a significant role in the enhancement of high-performance sports in Japan. The University has also produced 39 Olympic gold medalists for Japan since 1960” stated Tan Sri Dato’ Sri (Dr.) Mohamad Norza Zakaria.

“The research and development (R&D) done by the University for high-performance sports is indeed a very good example for us in our preparation for Paris Olympics in 2024” added Tan Sri Dato’ Sri (Dr.) Mohamad Norza Zakaria.

“On behalf of the NITTAIDAI, we are committed to share our expertise and experience in high-performance training for a number of Olympic sports such as Gymnastics Artistic, Judo and Breaking (also called Breakdancing which will be competed in Paris 2024)” stated Prof. Dr. Arata Kojima.

The NITTAIDAI will be organising a road show in Kuala Lumpur and the signing of Memorandum of Understandings (MOUs) with a few sports bodies in Malaysia for the cooperation in the enhancement of high-performance sports in February 2023.

Present during the discussion were also 3 representatives from the Eitoshin Shoji Co Ltd namely Datuk Seri Tam Yun Tong (CEO), Datin Seri Ang Hui Chin (Director) and Ms. Jenny Liew (COO).
