The Alpine Skiing Women’s Slalom event took place on Saturday, 8th February 2025, from 10.00 am to 12.30 pm, at the Alpine Skiing Slalom Stadium, in the Yabuli Cluster, Heilongjiang Province, China.
A total of 45 athletes from 16 National Olympic Committees (NOCs) competed in the event, including Ms. Aruwin SALEHUDDIN OLY, 21 years old, Malaysia’s first female Olympian in winter sports, who previously qualified for the XXIV Olympic Winter Games Beijing 2022.
The medallists of the Alpine Skiing Women’s Slalom event were:

𝗕𝗥𝗢𝗡𝗭𝗘 – 𝗘𝗿𝗲𝗻 𝗪𝗔𝗧𝗔𝗡𝗔𝗕𝗘 (𝗝𝗮𝗽𝗮𝗻) – 𝟭:𝟯𝟰.𝟵𝟲
Ms. Aruwin SALEHHUDDIN OLY, was one of four skiers from Southeast Asia who participated in the event, alongside Tallulah PROULX (Philippines), Karyssa VASAVANONT (Thailand) and Phichayaporn THIPKESORN (Thailand). She finished in fourth place with a time of 1:36.74, just 1.82 seconds behind the bronze medallist.
“On behalf of NOC Malaysia, I would like to express my heartfelt congratulations to Aruwin on her remarkable achievement in her first appearance at the Asian Winter Games”,
“Not only was she the first Malaysian female athlete to qualify for Alpine Skiing at the Olympic Winter Games, but she is now also the first to compete in the same sport at the Asian Winter Games”,
“We are extremely proud of her fourth-place achievement, finishing less than two seconds behind the bronze medallist”,
“Aruwin has a bright future ahead, as she is only 21 years old this year. NOC Malaysia will write to the Minister of Youth and Sports to consider providing additional financial support to assist her in qualifying for the next Olympic Winter Games as well as the Asian Winter Games” stated Dr. Norza ZAKARIA, President of NOC Malaysia, who also serves as the Vice President of OCA for Southeast Asia Zone.
Later in the evening, Dr. Norza ZAKARIA had the honour of presenting medals to the winners of the Alpine Skiing Women’s Slalom event, which the medal presentation ceremony was held at 6.45 pm, at the Yabuli Medals Plaza.
