Datuk Hamidin Mohd Amin, the Chef de Mission of the Malaysian Contingent to the XXXIII Olympic Games Paris 2024, on Thursday 4 July 2024, visited the National Shooting Range in Subang, where Paris-bound Johnathan Wong Guanjie OLY is being primed for his second appearance at the Games.
Johnathan was involved in a simulation match with all the national team’s senior and junior athletes to test his focus and mental strength in the final weeks of preparation before departing for Paris. According to coach Mohamad Firdaus Abd Rahim, the simulation match was designed to give Johnathan a high environment stress to assess his physical condition and psychological readiness.
“The coach shared with me that they make the simulation match as realistic as the actual competition day, complete with the support of sound, judges, and fans. Both of them explained the game situation and format to me, emphasizing the importance of psychological and mental strength in this sport,” said Datuk Hamidin.
